Overview of the event

Robotic process automation (RPA) technology is the next frontier for businesses looking to streamline processes, increase productivity and ultimately improve the bottom-line.

RPA typically uses artificial intelligence to handle repetitive, rules-based, back-office tasks. And the market is about to experience a period of "explosive" growth.

The RPA market grew 64 percent to $200 million last year and is expected to grow 70 to 90 percent by 2018 because successful pilot projects are inspiring buyer confidence in the technology, the consulting and research firm reports.

However, there are some barriers to adoption, such as IT departments concerned about data security and loss of control. Plus, “replacing staff with robots in some sectors, such as government, could become a political minefield.

Join us at RPA Summit in January to hear from subject matter experts currently evaluating RPA for their businesses in areas such as Finance, Procurement, HR, Outsourcing, Automation, etc.

X Topic Abstract

In today’s hyper-competitive world, the only choice enterprises do not have is to not make a move at all. Six best practices to delivering value throughout the automation journey

1. PRIORITIZE THE BEST-SUITED RPA USE CASES : Identify the most appropriate processes for RPA by looking for deterministic and rulesbased parts of a process

2. DETERMINE REALISTIC ROI EXPECTATIONS : The time taken to achieve ROI is one of the biggest challenges in RPA adoption. Enterprise processes continue to increase in complexity with greater seasonality, regulatory requirements, geographic variations, or numbers of exceptions, which result in longer development times and more user-acceptance testing. The time to reach break-even could range from six months for standard processes to up to two years for complex ones. The cost savings also range between 10–50% depending on the complexity

3. ESTABLISH A WELL-DEFINED GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE : A governance structure that defines roles and responsibilities for automation activities will help deliver successful RPA initiatives

4. SELECT CAPABLE RPA TOOLS AND OPERATORS : Leading RPA platforms are equipped to handle the most common automation scenarios. Organizations should evaluate tools with pre-built automation libraries that have re-usable components to connect to back-end systems, data-extraction capabilities, and cost and licensing options.

5. RE-ENGINEER PROCESSES TO MAXIMIZE RPA BENEFITS : RPA practitioners recommend re-engineering business processes that are inefficient and have critical interdependencies on other processes and applications.

6. ENABLE STRONG COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE BUSINESS AND IT : A significant number of RPA failures are attributed to the lack of collaboration between business and IT functions. Business leaders often fail to include IT in RPA planning discussions as they assume that RPA systems don't require extensive IT support

7. EYE ON FUTURE BEYOND RPA : The future of RPA and intelligent automation will be shaped by the following key forces:

Process-centricity as priority : A process-centric view is essential as multiple digital technologies start appearing in (and confusing) organizations.

Integration of RPA and digital technologies : The combination of RPA and digital technologies is transforming deterministic and rule-based RPA into truly intelligent automation

3.RPA, enterprise software and APIs : Over time, RPA capabilities are likely to become more closely integrated in other enterprise software products.

X Topic Abstract

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) — the automation for complex processes that replaces humans through the execution of advanced software — is transforming the future of back office Processes. Businesses across the board are realizing that RPA is the next significant digital transformation that will enable employees to stop working on repetitive tasks. Robotic Process Automation allows employees to focus on more value adding initiatives, which are imperative for the bottom line of the firm.

Business Process Automation (BPA) which is simply automation of complex business process, focuses on "run the business" as opposed to “count the business” types of automation efforts and often deals with event-driven, mission-critical, core processes.

Basic RPAs focus on simple tasks, such as table population, web scrubbing, desktop apps consolidation, cut/copy/paste (CCP), or task scheduling. Advanced RPAs can tap into more unstructured data using techniques found in chatbots or online digital assistants, such as Apple’s Siri or Google Assistant and Microsoft Cortana. In the future, cognitive RPAs will be able to effectively navigate complex scenarios initially designed for humans and by use of machine learning (ML), the overall system optimizes itself by its own.

X Topic Abstract

RPA (Robotic Process Automation) are rather augmenting humans than replacing them, at the end the human is co-working with bots.

RPA and AI Accelerate Digital Transformation by seamlessly integrating in a "best of breed" approach, the combination of RPA & AI-powered cognitive automation called Intelligent Process Automation (IPA), is where Robots learn from prior decisions and data patterns to make their own decisions.

Robotic Process Automation is very helpful in any autonomous technology to increase efficiency while improving customer experience. Discover how it works with successful use cases in autonomous vehicle in our India’s First Self-driving Car.

Autonomous Driving which provides mobility intelligence to consumers in order to improve safety, mobility and efficiency, completely disrupt not just the way we drive, but the way we live - watching a Movie, or getting work done in the backseat while your car deals with traffic.

94% of road accidents are caused by human error. "Self-Driver cars do offer a promising alternative to driving and would reduce the number of road fatalities due to human error."

Autonomous mobility promises to stem the declining access to public transport, Marginal and loss making routes will become viable without subsidy and those in society that are most in need of access to services will be connected.

"Autonomous vehicles will be as important as the internet".

Difference between Automation and Robotic version of automation

People loosing jobs as a process of RPA?

90% of Jobs done in the BPO were data entry and digitization, no one does the data entry. OCR came and replaced everything, does that mean that BPO went away by 90%?

Automation is going to be a facilitator?

Enterprise vs people vs cost vs turnaround time vs Quality

Robots 24/7 vs Human 8*5

Automated Full time Equivalent and Personal Robotic Assistance
